India's Kush Maini completes first F1 test with Alpine

Maini is currently placed 5th in the Formula 2 Driver’s Championship standings.

Indian racer Kush Maini recently completed his first Formula 1 test with the BWT Alpine F1 Team.

Maini, who joined the Alpine Academy last year, is part of Alpine’s driver development program. Besides testing, he works on the team’s simulator and assists the team with analysing the data.

Maini is competing in Formula 2 this year and has had a decent season so far. He was on pole for the Jeddah race and finished second in the feature race. He finished third in the Melbourne sprint race and is currently placed 5th in the Driver’s Championship standings.

Other drivers who are part of Alpine’s driver development program include Jack Doohan, who is the team’s reserve driver, and Victor Martins, the 2022 Formula 2 champion.
