Indian Scout unveiled in India; bookings open

Polaris India Pvt. Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries Inc., has unveiled the Indian Scout motorcycle in India. The Indian Scout is the fourth offering in India from legendary American motorcycle manufacturer, Indian Motorcycle.

Powering the Indian Scout is a 1131 cc, V-twin, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 100 hp and 97.7 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox.

The Indian Scout has a 120 mm telescopic fork front suspension and 76 mm dual shocks at the rear. The bike has 16-inch wheels shod with a 130/90-16 72H tyre at the front and 150/80-16 71H tyre at the rear. 298 mm single rotors with a two piston caliper and one piston caliper at the front and rear respectively provide stopping power for the bike.

The Indian Scout is 2,311 mm long, 880 mm wide and stands 1,207 mm high with a 1,562 mm long wheelbase and ground clearance of 135 mm. The bike has a dry weight of 244-253 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 litres.

Bookings for the Indian Scout are now open. The price of the bike has been pegged at Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
