India-spec Hyundai Kona EV to offer 452 km of range

According to Hyundai, the India-spec Kona EV will have an ARAI certified maximum range of 452 km on a single charge.

In the international market, the Kona EV is available in two variants - a 39.2 kWh version offering 312 km of range and a peak output of 134 BHP and 395 Nm of torque and a 64 kWh version with 201 BHP. The carmaker is likely to offer the latter in India.

The Kona EV equipped with the 64 kWh lithium-ion battery is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and has a top speed of 167 km/h. Recharging the batteries to 80% of their capacity is said to take 75 minutes using a fast charger, while normal charging takes 9 hours and 35 minutes to reach 100%.

The Hyundai Kona EV will be launched on July 9, 2019.
