Honda XRE 300 spotted in India

Honda XRE 300 has been spotted recently on the company's shop floor. This indicates to a nearing launch of the motorcycle in India.

The XRE 300 is Honda's offering in the adventure motorcycle segment and is currently on sale only in the Brazilian market. The spotted model sports the Metallic Grey Adventure paint scheme. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,417 mm, a ground clearance of 259 mm and a seat height of 860 mm.

The off-roader is powered by a 291.6 cc, DOHC, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which has PGM-FI electronic injection. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and develops 25 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The front suspension is a 245 mm telescopic fork while the rear gets a 225 mm Pro-link suspension. Braking duties are handled by 256 mm discs at the front and 220 mm discs at the rear.

In the Indian market, the bike is likely to compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, upcoming KTM 390 Adventure, BMW GS 310 and Kawasaki Versys 300.
