Honda WR-V: More details surface!

Thank you to the Team-BHP fan (he prefers to remain anonymous) who sent this information in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts!

Honda recently started production of the WR-V in India at its manufacturing facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan. Now, Team-BHP has got some more details about the upcoming crossover, which is expected to be launched in the country around mid-March.

The biggest revelation made by the surfaced details is regarding the powertrain options on offer. According to the information available, the WR-V is expected to be powered by the same set of engines that do duty in the Jazz hatchback. This means that it will come with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit. The City's 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine will not make it to the WR-V.

Additionally, the WR-V will come in two new colours - one was seen in our earlier scoop images, while the other is a Modern Steel shade that will be replacing the Urban Titanium colour. Interestingly, the WR-V will initially be launched with only two variants. It will come with slightly tweaked interiors, common with those of the 2017 City facelift, which is expected to be launched in mid-February.

The information available also indicates that the HR-V will not be coming to India. Additionally, at present, Honda has no plans to bring the new Civic and CR-V to the country either.
