Honda recalls 1.4 million cars globally over fuel pump issue

Honda has recalled close to 1.4 million vehicles globally over a faulty fuel pump. It is believed that the fuel pump could fail resulting in the engine stalling or losing power.

In the USA, 1.36 lakh cars are affected by this issue. The models that come under this recall include the 2018 and 2019 Accord, Civic hatchback, Civic Type-R, HR-V, 2019 Fit as well as the 2019 and 2020 Insight.

A few Acura models are also affected. These include the 2019 RDX, RLX, RLX Sport Hybrid and the 2018 and 2019 NSX.

Honda will notify owners of the affected vehicles in July. The carmaker will be replacing the fuel pumps supplied by Denso free of cost.
