2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 unveiled with 1,064 BHP V8 engine

The ZR1 is powered by the most powerful V8 engine made by an American carmaker.

Chevrolet has taken the wraps off the 2025 Corvette ZR1, the newest flagship & the most potent version of the current C8 generation of the American supercar.

The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 comes in coupe and convertible guise, both powered by the most powerful V8 engine made by an American carmaker. This comes in the form of a 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine (known as the LT7) with a flat-plane crank. It is an updated version of the LT6. It features massive updates, including larger combustion chambers, a new intake system, integrated twin-turbochargers with the exhaust manifold, unique head castings and specific valve train timing & lift profile.

The engine produces a massive 1,064 BHP and 1,122 Nm, all of which, is sent to the rear wheels. It is paired with a standard 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Chevrolet claims the Corvette ZR1 is capable of reaching a top speed of over 340 km/h and can complete a 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds.

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 comes with a bunch of design and aero upgrades as well. This includes a carbon fibre aero package which helps the car generate 545 kg of downforce at top speed. Other elements of the package include carbon fibre air ducts, fresh air intake ducts at the front, a flow-through hood and a split rear window (a tribute to older Corvette models). There is also a ZTK performance package which adds a massive rear wing, front dive planes, a tall hood gurney and custom settings for the dampers.

The ZR1 also comes with the biggest brakes ever fitted on a Corvette, with 400 mm discs at the front and 390 mm at the rear. Customers will get a host of customisation options, both for the exterior and interior.
