Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has revealed its first electric scooter for the Indian market. The new model is called the Activa e: and it will be offered in two variants: Standard and Sync Duo.
The Activa e: features a contemporary design with sleek body panels. It has an LED headlamp positioned on the front fairing and an LED DRL mounted on the handlebar cowl. The e-scooter is also equipped with a 7-inch TFT screen that can be paired with the Honda RoadSync Duo app. It comes with navigation and the H-Smart key with features like Smart Find, Smart Safe, Smart Unlock and Smart Start.
The Activa e: uses a 6 kW electric motor that produces a peak torque of 22 Nm. It is powered by a pair of 1.5 kWh removable batteries, offering a range of 102 km on a single charge.
The e-scooter comes with three riding modes: Eco, Standard and Sport. Honda claims it can sprint from 0-60 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 80 km/h.
The Activa e: uses a telescopic front fork and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and is equipped with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Bookings for the Honda Activa e: will commence on January 1, 2025, and deliveries will begin in February. Initially, the e-scooter will be available in select cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
