Honda has patented a new maxi-scooter, the PCX160, in India. However, it doesn’t guarantee that it will be launched in the country.
The Honda PCX160 has a typical maxi-scooter design with a large fairing in the front equipped with a wraparound twin-pod LED headlamp and a stepped seat. It rides on alloy wheels with a 14-inch rim in the front and a 13-inch rim at the back.
Powering the PCX160 is 157cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 15.8 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 14.7 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission.
In terms of features, the PCX160 comes with a digital instrument console, 30-litre of under-seat storage, keyless ignition and single-channel ABS.
If launched, the PCX160 would be a worthy rival for the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160.
