Hyundai and Indian Oil to conduct road trials of Nexo Hydrogen FCEV

The road trials will assess the operational reliability and durability of hydrogen-powered vehicles in Indian driving conditions.

Hyundai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation to check the feasibility of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) in India.

As part of the agreement, Hyundai will provide a Nexo FCEV to Indian Oil for on-road trials to assess the operational reliability and durability of hydrogen-powered vehicles in Indian driving conditions, as well as the total cost of ownership.

Unsoo Kim, MD of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “Together we seek to unlock the potential of Green Hydrogen as a transformative energy source making it accessible, affordable and sustainable.” Kim went on to state, “We are confident this collaboration will serve as a critical step in demonstrating the potential of hydrogen as an alternate sustainable fuel source in the times to come.”
