Harley-Davidson to launch Street Rod 750 in India

Harley-Davidson will soon add a new bike in its Indian portfolio. Called the Street Rod 750, this new motorcycle has already been listed on the company's official website with a 'Coming Soon' tagline.

The Street Rod 750 is based on the Street 750, which was launched in India in 2014. The Street Rod is 2,130 mm in length and has a ground clearance of 205 mm. The front wheel gets a 120/70 R17 tyre while the rear wheel comes shod with 160/60 R17 rubber. The bike tips the weighing scales at 283 kg (in running order) and comes with a 13.1-litre fuel tank.

The design of the Street Rod 750 features a new headlamp cowl, circular headlight, beefier 43 mm upside down forks, drag-style straight handlebars and bar-end rear view mirrors. The side reveals a split-seat setup, Harley's signature teardrop fuel tank and blacked out exhaust and engine setup. The rake angle has been tightened to reduce the wheelbase in an attempt to improve the bike's agility.

The engine is derived from the Street 750, but has been altered to suit the Street Rod 750's dynamics. The 749 cc mill makes slightly more torque - rated at 62 Nm @ 3750 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both wheels, while there is no mention of the presence of ABS.
