Harith Noah becomes first Indian to win Rally 2 class at Dakar Rally

Hero Motorsports' Ross Branch secured second place overall in the bikes category.

After two weeks of intense racing through Saudi Arabia, TVS Sherco rider Harith Noah created history by becoming the first Indian to win the Rally 2 class at the Dakar Rally.

Noah finished four minutes ahead of second-placed Romain Dumontier and 11th overall, missing out on a top-10 finish by just 6 minutes. 

At the end of Stage 6, the TVS Sherco rider was 13th overall and had secured P11 by the end of Stage 8. Noah set the fastest times in Stage 8 and Stage 10 of the rally.

Noah is the third Indian rider after KP Aravind and CS Santosh to participate in the Dakar Rally.
