Asking for a close friend outside of this forum:
He currently owns a Triber and is replacing it with an EV. Budget has been capped at 18 lacs apparently. He has booked a Nexon EV as of now, but I have suggested otherwise.
I am not very much into EV's, and AFAIK, Nexon EV is a 1st gen EV currently at thr end of its lifecycle. I have strongly suggested to look at the MG Windsor but he is dismissing it off because of the looks.
Purpose of the vehicle: primarily for city usage, with outstation trips once in a while.
Suggestions and advices on this would be highly appreciated.
Regards

Windsor EV is the most VFM currently but comes with a great range anxiety. But if looks are the main priority, then Creta EV or the eVitara would be a better choice, if they are interested in waiting a bit more.

No. Nexon EV's chassis hasn't changed. But under the hood, it is a 2nd gen similar to Punch.ev or Curvv.ev. The HV issues are much lesser when compared to the 1st generation Tata EVs. If 18L is a strict budget and he isn't going to be on the highway (meaning more DC charging), Nexon45 and Curvv45 might be worth a look.
If he foresees more DC charging and strict budget, then Windsor EV. Beyond the polarising looks, there is unbelievable space inside.
If he is flexible with budget, then he should look at BE6, Creta EV or the upcoming eVitara
