Fourth-gen Honda City launched; prices start from Rs. 7.42 L

Japanese carmaker, Honda has launched the fourth-generation City in India. The car is priced between Rs. 7.42 lakh and Rs. 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new City is offered in five trim levels (E, S, SV, V, VX) with a choice of two engines - 1.5-litre, i-VTEC petrol, producing 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque and 1.5-litre, i-DTEC diesel, good for 100 PS and 200 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission is available on all the variants of the City diesel. The petrol car is offered with a 5-speed manual across all the variants, while a CVT automatic gearbox can be opted for on the SV and VX.

While new City does not look radically different to its predecessor, it has a wheelbase longer by 50 mm stands 10 mm taller. Inside, the car has gained 40 mm, 60 mm and 70 mm of shoulder room, leg room and knee room, respectively.

The fourth-gen City features a long list of equipment across its trim levels. The range-topping VX variant gets a push-button start/stop switch, smart key, sunroof, chrome door handles and leather upholstery. While all variants feature a driver airbag, the SV, V and VX are equipped with a passenger airbag as well.

  • SV (MT) – Rs. 8.49 lakh
  • SV (CVT) – Rs. 9.49 lakh
  • V (MT) – Rs. 8.99 lakh
  • VX (MT) – Rs. 9.93 lakh
  • VX (CVT) – Rs. 10.98 lakh

Diesel

  • E (MT) – Rs. 8.62 lakh
  • S (MT) – Rs. 9.24 lakh
  • SV (MT) – Rs. 9.66 lakh
  • V (MT) – Rs. 10.16 lakh
  • VX (MT) – Rs. 11.10 lakh
