Ford to introduce two new EV platforms by 2025

Ford will be developing two new dedicated EV platform by 2025. The company also plans to introduce 9 new electric cars.

Ford is reported to be investing large amounts towards the development of EVs for the future. According to a media report, the American car brand is developing two new dedicated EV platforms, which will be introduced by 2025.

Of the two EV platforms, one will be dedicated for trucks and large SUVs, while the second will be used for passenger cars and small SUVs. The two new EV architectures will form the basis of all future electric models from Ford.

The two architectures are also expected to help Ford bring down manufacturing costs and reduce expenses while transitioning towards electric mobility. This will be achieved through the sharing of components, batteries and motors between various models, using the same EV platforms.

There are reports that Ford is said to be planning on introducing nine new electric vehicles. These are said to include passenger cars, small SUVs and at least three trucks, vans and large SUVs.

Ford is yet to make an official statement of its electrification plans. However, reports do suggest the company will make the announcement very soon.
