Ducati Multistrada 950 launched at Rs. 12.60 lakh

Ducati has launched the Multistrada 950 in India, priced at Rs. 12.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is the smallest capacity adventure motorcycle from Ducati and is also the most affordable Multistrada available in the Italian bike maker's portfolio.

In terms of the design, the Multistrada 950 looks similar to its bigger siblings. However, the overall dimensions of the bike are slightly smaller than that of the Multistrada 1200. It also borrows some components from the Multistrada Enduro, including the rear grab rail, rider seat and swingarm.

Powering the Multistrada 950 is a 937cc Testastretta, 11-degree, L-twin engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This powertrain pumps out 111 BHP at 9,000 rpm and 96 Nm of torque @ 7,750 rpm. Ducati claims that the engine has been tuned to deliver 80% of the peak torque from 3,500-9,500 rpm.

The suspension setup of the Multistrada 950 includes 48 mm a KYB upside down fork at the front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear. The front gets 19-inch wheels wrapped with 120/70 profile tyre, while the rear gets a 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 170/60 profile tyre. The Multistrada 950 comes with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres as standard, while Scorpion Rally tyres are available as an option.

Ducati Multistrada 950 is offered in two colours - Ducati Red and Star White Silk, though the latter will be available only after October this year. The bike also comes with four accessory pack options - Touring, Sport, Enduro and Urban.
