BHPian HTC recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
After my recent experience with NEXA service, I am hesitant to have any future work done by them. During my third free service, I requested that the steering tilt be fixed. The service advisor insisted on performing wheel alignment and balancing to address the issue. Since I had already done tire rotation, alignment, and balancing just 500 kilometers earlier, I asked him to simply reset the steering angle sensor. However, he claimed that wheel balancing and alignment were necessary. I instructed them to not to bother and leave the steering as it was.
To my surprise, when I called in the evening to check if my car was ready, he mentioned they were doing the wheel alignment. I reiterated that I had asked them not to proceed with it. When I received the bill, there was no charge for the alignment, but I noticed unnecessary items like rat spray, interior trim spray, washer fluid, and air freshener, totaling 500 INR, had been added. I chose not to argue and settled the bill before taking my car. Unfortunately, I didn't test drive the car before leaving, as it was late. During a Bangalore-Mysore trip over the weekend, I realized they had messed up the alignment—the car was pulling significantly to the right. I called them and visited on Sunday, and after a test drive, the mechanic acknowledged the alignment issue and corrected it.
What was even more concerning was the mechanic's advice on how to drive the automatic transmission for longevity. He seemed unaware of the L-1-2 gear functions in an automatic and suggested using '2' for highway driving and 'D' for city driving to extend the gearbox's life. This was surprising, especially since he claimed to have 14 years of experience with Maruti service centers.
Will stay next to the car for the rest of the services for sure.
