Datsun GO bookings commence

Datsun, the budget brand of Japanese carmaker, Nissan has started accepting bookings for the GO hatchback. The car is aimed at first time buyers and is expected to be priced less than Rs. 4 lakh. The booking amount is pegged at Rs. 11,000 and deliveries are expected to commence by the end of March 2014.

Initially the GO is being offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine coupled to a 5-speed, manual gearbox, a combo that has been borrowed from the Nissan Micra. Datsun claims the car can achieve a fuel economy of 20.6 kpl and is offering a two-year, unlimited kilometre warranty on it.

The GO, which measures 3785 mm in length, 1635 mm in width and 1485 mm in height, is being offered in 4 colours. On the inside, the GO has five seats, a mobile dock with USB charging facility. Other equipment includes an HVAC unit and powered front windows.

The Datsun GO is Nissan's rival for the Maruti Suzuki Alto, and Hyundai Eon.
