CS Santosh exits Dakar 2016

CS Santosh has dropped out of Dakar 2016 after facing technical issues in the marathon stage, which rendered him unable to continue in the race. The primary culprit for Santosh's exit was a broken navigation tower (a mount that allows the placement of the road book) on his Suzuki 450 Rally. Electrical failures added salt to his wounds and because no outside mechanical assistance is allowed during the marathon section, Santosh had to throw in the towel.

However, he did fight through and made it across the finish line in San Salvador De Jujuy. Unfortunately, his Dakar story ended there and he could not compete in the 642 km long fifth stage, that would see competitors enter Bolivia, including a crossing at 4,600 metres (over 15,000 feet), which is the highest point of the Dakar rally in South America.

Dakar 2015 was Santosh's maiden attempt at the gruelling rally, in which he managed to place an impressive 36th. CS Santosh has innumerable national and international accolades to his name and we hope to see him on the saddle for the next edition of the Dakar rally.
