Creta diesel AT 10K km service: Overall experience & few observations

When I reached the Hyundai service centre to pick up my car, two warning lights on the instrument cluster were on.

BHPian vattyboy recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Completed 10,000 km in just 120 days. Took the car to an authorised service centre in Udaipur. There were no complaints in the car except for some alignment issues.

  • Oil Filter Air Filter
  • AC Cabin Filter
  • Alignment
  • Wheel Balancing

Other work I requested

  • Rear left door chrome beading stick by glue.
  • The rear left door sunvisor is stuck by glue.

Old Oil Draining Out

New Oil Going In

Old Air Filter and Cabin Filter condition

2nd Free Service charges- (Rs 5053)-

Comments on the service centre

  • They promised to give the car back in the evening but then they called me that there was some error occurred in the ECU update so they will give the car tomorrow.
  • The next day they called me to collect the car but to my surprise, 2 malfunctions were coming on the instrument cluster 1. Auto Hold 2. Electronic Stability Control. They should not call the customer and say the car is ready for delivery when 2 malfunctions are coming on the cluster, this shows that they are ready to give delivery to customers with malfunction. Now I asked them to solve this and they said that it would go with a long drive, I know this one was an excuse and SA was not taking this seriously so I called the Asst. Service Manager, after which they became more serious and corrected the errors within 1 hour and delivered the car to my home.
  • The washing quality was bad, there were hard water stain marks on the outside. Also, there were dark grease and oil marks inside the cabin on my white leather seats and door pads. All these were removed after mentioning them but this kind of thing should be taken care of by themselves before giving delivery to the customer.

Observed Points

  • Rs 5000 service charges are highly reasonable and this counts as the reason why Creta is selling in high numbers and leading the sales chart.
  • There are 3 service centres in Udaipur which is a tier-3 city, I am sure that in Tier-1 or Tier-2 cities the number of service, centres is more. This helps the customer reach out to the next dealers if he finds the service of one dealer bad.
  • Service can be booked easily on the My Hyundai app, and the dealer calls within hours to confirm the booking.
  • I also observed that the workmanship at the service centres is any day better in Surat than in Udaipur.
