China: Next-gen Hyundai Creta (ix25) unveiled

Hyundai has unveiled the next generation Creta, also known as the ix25 in China at Auto Shanghai 2019.

The new Creta features a heavily revised exterior. The front end borrows design cues from the larger Palisade SUV. It has a cascade grille with a chrome frame and split headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper has a skid plate finished in silver with fog lamps on either side. The car has a dual-tone roof, ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators and dual-tone alloy wheels.

At the rear, the new Creta gets a tailgate with a roof-spoiler, trapezoidal tail lamp clusters and a horizontal black strip that runs between them. The rear stop light is housed on this strip. There is a dual-tone bumper with a silver skid plate flanked by a pair of reversing lights.

The new Creta gets dual-tone interiors, a vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system with two air-conditioning vents on top and a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel.

The next-generation Creta is expected to be launched in India in 2020. It could be offered with BS-VI compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines.
