BYD has launched eMax 7 electric MPV in India. The new model is available in two variants – Premium and Superior, with prices starting at Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The BYD eMax 7 is the replacement for the e6. As part of the update, the eMax 7 gets sleeker-looking LED headlamps with a silver insert in the centre and a redesigned front bumper, while the rear gets slim LED taillights connected by an LED light bar. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
The 3-row electric MPV is available in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. While the interior looks similar to the outgoing e6, the eMax 7 does get a larger 12.8-inch central touchscreen, a 3-spoke steering wheel, two wireless charging pads, 6 airbags, and a 360-degree camera. The Superior variant gets Level 2 ADAS, a fixed panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, frameless wipers, and roof rails.
The BYD eMax 7 comes with two battery options. The Premium variant is offered with a 55.4 kWh battery pack with a range of 420 km and the Superior trim gets a larger 71.8 kWh unit that offers a range of 530 km.Â
BYD offers a 161 BHP electric motor on the Premium variant, which enables the MPV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.1 seconds, while the Superior trim packs a 201 BHP e-motor and has a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 8.6 seconds. The top speed of both variants is 180 km/h.
The eMax 7 comes with a 7 kW AC charger. It also supports fast charging up to 89 kW (Premium) and 115 kW (Superior). The MPV also has vehicle-to-load charging capability.
The BYD eMax 7 is available in four colour options: Quartz Blue, Harbour Grey, Crystal White and Cosmos Black. It comes with an 8-year / 1.6 lakh km battery warranty and an 8-year / 1.5 lakh motor warranty.
