Kush Maini joins Alpine F1 team as test and reserve driver

Maini will continue racing in Formula 2 with DAMS.

Indian racing driver Kush Maini has been appointed as the test and reserve driver of the Alpine Formula 1 team for the 2025 season.

Maini, who has been racing in Formula 2, joined Alpine’s junior program in October 2023. He will join the team’s pool of reserve drivers, which includes Franco Colapinto, Paul Aron and Riyo Hirakawa.

As the reserve driver, Maini will be responsible for car development and setup using the team’s driver-in-loop simulator at Enstone. He will also participate in TPC (testing of previous cars) Programme, which is aimed at improving his skills.

Meanwhile, Maini will continue racing in Formula 2 with DAMS. 2025 will be his third season as an F2 driver.
