BMW X7, 7-Series facelift launch on July 25, 2019

BMW has announced that it will launch the X7 and the 7-Series facelift on July 25, 2019.

Both, the X7 SUV and the 7-Series share the same CLAR platform. The X7 is positioned at the top of BMW's SUV line up. In India, it is likely to be offered in three variants - xDrive40i, xDrive30d and M50d.

The xDrive40i is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol engine that produces 335 BHP @ 5,500-6,500 rpm and 450 Nm of torque @ 1,500-5,200 rpm. The xDrive30d packs a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 265 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 620 Nm @ 2,000 rpm, while the top-spec M50d is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel that makes 394 BHP @ 4,400 rpm and 760 Nm of torque @ 2,000-3,000 rpm. All variants are expected to come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.

The 7-Series facelift features a new twin kidney grille that is larger than the outgoing model. It gets new headlights and tail lights with an LED light bar at the back. It is rumoured that BMW will offer the 7-Series in the 745Le plug-in hybrid variant, which comes with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol engine that produces 282 BHP @ 5,000-6,000 rpm and 450 Nm of torque @ 1,500-3,500 rpm. A 12 kWh battery pack powers the electric motor, which adds another 111 BHP and 265 Nm of torque.
