BMW M3 Touring official teaser hints at large curved display

The BMW M3 Touring will take on the Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate.

BMW is gearing up to introduce the M3 Touring model in international markets in the coming months. Ahead of its global unveil, the German carmaker has released a couple of teaser images of the upcoming performance estate, covered in heavy camouflage.

The new BMW M3 Touring is based on the 3 Series facelift, which will come with a bunch of updates to the interiors. While the official images do not reveal the interiors of the M3 Touring, a closer look does hint towards the estate featuring a large curved display. This is similar to the one in the brand's i4 and iX models, which features a large floating display integrating two screens - one for the digital instrument cluster and the other being the touchscreen infotainment head-unit. BMW is also said to be introducing its latest iDrive 8 system in the upcoming model, instead of the iDrive 7 system, which is seen in the current M3 sedan.

The BMW M3 Touring will carry over the engine from the M3 Competition. This engine is an in-line 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged petrol unit producing 503 BHP and 650 Nm. The M3 Touring will come with an automatic transmission and BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system. The top speed will be limited to 250 km/h, which can be extended by choosing the optional M Driver's package.
