Tesla’s plans to enter the Indian market have been gathering momentum following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Washington DC. The US-based EV marker is likely to open its first showroom in Mumbai.
According to a media report, Tesla has signed a 5-year lease deal for a showroom in the Maker Maxity building located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
The showroom is spread over 4,003 sq.ft. for which the company has agreed to pay a rent of approximately $446,000 for the first year. The lease deal reportedly started from February 16, 2025.
Last month, Tesla restarted hiring in India. The company posted 13 job openings for multiple domains, including business operations, customer service, delivery and order operations, as well as showroom staff and technicians.
