BMW to launch S 1000 R BS6 in India on June 15

The S 1000 R is powered by a BS6-compliant 999cc, 4-cylinder engine that puts out 163 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm @ 9,250 rpm.

BMW Motorrad plans to launch the BS6-compliant version of the S 1000 R in India on June 15, 2021.

The S 1000 R was unveiled in November 2020. It is based on the S 1000 RR and is powered by a BS6-compliant 999cc, 4-cylinder engine that puts out 163 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm @ 9,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The S 1000 R gets a Bridge-type aluminium laminate frame with an adjustable upside-down telescopic fork suspension at the front and an adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. The bike gets 17-inch wheels with 120/70 and 190/55 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.

Coming to stopping power, the S 1000 R is equipped with twin-disc brakes with four-piston fixed calipers at the front and a single disc brake with a one-piston floating caliper at the rear.

Standard features include full LED lighting, three ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic), ABS, traction control, TFT display with connectivity and an adjustable handlebar position.
