BMW R 1300 GS launched in India at Rs 20.95 lakh

The BMW R 1300 GS competes with the Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 1200 and the Ducati Multistrada V4.

BMW Motorrad has launched the all-new R 1300 GS in India. The adventure tourer is available in a single 'Pro' variant priced at Rs 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

The R 1300 GS features a completely new design with a flatter tank ramp and new LED Matrix headlights with integrated DRLs. The standard version has a seat height of 850 mm.

The Triple Black option adds a black rear frame, luggage carrier, comfort seats, comfort passenger footrests and a centre stand. It also includes an electrically adjustable high windshield, black cross-spoke wheels and optional Adjustable Height Control.

The GS Trophy theme features a Racing Blue Metallic colour scheme with Red & White highlights and Gold cross-spoke wheels. It also comes with a sport passenger seat and radiator guards.

The 719 Tramuntana option includes gold and black cross-spoke wheels, black main and rear frames, powertrain and luggage carrier, gold anodized handlebar and Aurelius Green metallic parts. The bike gets a Luxor black/grey fuel tank centre cover and Avus Black metallic cylinder head covers. Besides the cosmetic bits, this option also adds features like Riding Assistant, Active Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning and Lane Change Warning systems.

The BMW R 1300 GS is powered by a 1,300cc 2-cylinder boxer engine that produces 143 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine features BMW's ShiftCam tech and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. There are four riding modes: Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro and three optional modes: Dynamic, Dynamic Pro and Enduro Pro.

The R 1300 GS rides on a new EVO Telelever front suspension and a para-lever setup at the rear. BMW offers features like Dynamic Suspension Adjustment that can adjust the damping and preload depending on the road conditions and riding style.
