Bajaj Pulsar CS400 spotted in clear spy shots

Bajaj Pulsar CS400 has already been spotted a couple of times before, but the recent set of spy shots showcases a clearer view of the upcoming Pulsar bike. It is also the first time that the front fascia of the bike is visible. These spy shots were taken during one of the test runs of the CS400, which is currently in the last phases of testing.

The spy shots indicate that Bajaj has carried forward the compartmented headlamp design from the Pulsar CS400 concept, as it is a part of the production bike as well. But many subtle changes have been made in the CS400's design to make it production-friendly and affordable. As a result, the front suspension forks are now conventional units, as compared to the up-side down forks that were seen on the concept. A split-seat on the production-spec bike replaces the concept's heavily contoured single seat.

Other design elements on offer with the Pulsar CS400 will include LED turn indicators, minimalistic headlight cowl and twin-vertical LED taillights. Bajaj has retained the fully digital instrument cluster of the CS400 concept, while an auxiliary display is placed on the fuel tank.

The Pulsar CS400's engine will be based on the KTM 390's 373.2 cc power mill. Bajaj will add its patented digital triple spark technology to this engine. It will be liquid cooled, and will come coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Recent spy shots also suggest that the Pulsar CS400 will come with dual channel ABS, as both discs appear to have ABS rings in the spy shots.

Aimed at touring enthusiasts of the country, the CS400 is being claimed as the most capable and powerful Pulsar yet. We have earlier reported that the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 launch in India will take place in Q3 this year, i.e. July - September 2016.
