My Astor - 50000 Kms Update:
Just 3 days ago, I completed a milestone of 50K kilometers in my Astor, and the experience has been pleasing to say the least.
It has been a wonderful 2.8 years with the Astor, and even though it has lacked in some areas, it has been a great package overall. Let me tell you all about the experience and the recently done 50K service.
My Experience:
The experience has been overall great, apart from some bittersweet moments, which are not significant enough to spoil my mind and think about it. Sure, many may argue that the 1.5l NA CVT may not be the most powerful or most responsive motor, after running it in, it surely behaves quite well. There is enough power when you slam the throttle in sport mode, as well as pretty good efficiency in my Astor circle (I get 11 kmpl in highways ). The city drive is very easy, except for the humongous turning radius.
Over the 50K kilometers, the Astor had acquired many battle scars, but I recently got it repaired, so its pretty much brand new. I often get the itch to sell it and do a lateral upgrade, but then, I realize i have to spend close to 2X the price I spent on Astor, for it has spoilt me on the grounds of interior quality, space management and comfort.
50K Service:
I recently did a 50K service, and some major things were carried out.
Apart from this, I have to get new tires, probably from the same Continental Ultracontact UC6. Even though I face a lot of punctures, highway mannerism and VFM is best in the UC6, so choosing to stick with it.
That's it guys, the next milestone in 60K kms, which too will be done soon, due to road trips planned.
Cheers!
