4th-gen Toyota Vellfire bookings open unofficially

The India-spec Vellfire is expected to get a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain.

Last week, Toyota unveiled the fourth generation Vellfire globally. As per the latest reports, some dealerships in India have started accepting pre-bookings for the luxury MPV.

It has been reported that stocks of the Vellfire are low, and hence dealers are asking customers who have made bookings for the older model to upgrade to the new Vellfire. Dealerships are said to be charging anywhere between Rs 2-5 lakh for a booking.

The new Vellfire is based on Toyota's TNGA-K platform. It measures just under 5 meters in length and features a massive 6-slat grille up front. The MPV comes with new LED headlamps and a redesigned front bumper with vertical vents and chrome trim around its edges.

Inside, the Vellfire comes equipped with a large centrally-mounted touchscreen infotainment system. In India, Toyota will offer the Executive Lounge package that includes two individual captain seats for the second row with retractable tables, a detachable control panel, and a sunroof, among other comfort features.

Globally, the Vellfire is offered with three engine options – a 2.5-litre petrol, a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid and a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol. The India-spec Vellfire is expected to get the petrol-hybrid powertrain.
