Vellfire-based Lexus LM MPV teased in India

Lexus LM could be offered with a 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain in India.

The Lexus LM made its global debut in April this year. Now, the carmaker is gearing up to launch it in the Indian market. A teaser has just been released, suggesting that its launch could be just around the corner.

The Lexus LM shares its underpinnings with the Toyota Vellfire and is based on the TNGA-K platform which is said to be 50% more rigid than its predecessor.

The 2024 Lexus LM gets a redesigned exterior featuring a large, upright grille and sleek LED headlamps and a wraparound LED light bar that extends across the rear fascia. Inside, the LM offers seating for 4, 6 and 7 passengers, with the 4-seater being the most luxurious of the range.

The LM comes equipped with a 48-inch widescreen display that separates the driver's cabin from the rear compartment, a refrigerator and an advanced air-conditioning system that detects the temperature of a passenger's face, chest, thighs and lower legs.

Globally, the Lexus LM is available with two 4-cylinder hybrid powertrains. These include 2.4-litre and 2.5-litre engines paired with hybrid systems. Toyota currently offers the latter in the Vellfire sold in India.
