4th-gen Hyundai Tucson spotted undisguised

The Tucson will compete with the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross and the VW Tiguan.

EDIT on 30th December

Hyundai has sent us a clarification that the car is NOT for the Indian market and is being exported to Nepal.

Hyundai is gearing up to launch the fourth generation Tucson in India sometime next year. We've already seen test mules on Indian roads, but this time, the SUV was spotted on a transporter without camouflage.

The fourth-gen Tucson's styling is based on Hyundai's Parametric dynamics design philosophy. The car features half-mirror type daytime running lights integrated into the grille. The rear of the car features a full-width LED light bar with triangular tail lamp clusters. On the interior, the Tucson gets dual 10.25-inch touchscreens and a hoodless digital instrument cluster.

In the international market, the Tucson comes with a range of petrol and diesel engines. These include a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, direct-injection petrol engine with 187 BHP and 247 Nm and 1.6-litre, turbo petrol hybrid or plug-in hybrid with 227 BHP and 350 Nm. The diesel range includes a 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre oil burner.

In India, the Tucson will compete with the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross and the VW Tiguan.
