2016 BMW X1 launched at Rs. 29.90 - 39.90 lakh

This is the 2nd generation BMW X1 and is being locally produced at BMW's Chennai manufacturing plant. Dealerships have already begun taking bookings, and deliveries will begin April 2016 onward.

It is currently only available with one diesel engine option. The petrol engine is scheduled to launch later this year.

Tech Specs:
• Uses BMW's new TwinPower Turbo 1995cc 4-cylinder diesel engine
• The engine gets twin turbos with variable turbine geometry
• Power output is 188 BHP, with torque output being 400 Nm @ 1,750 - 2,500 rpm
• Transmission on offer is the 8-speed steptronic automatic (torque converter)
• Available in front-wheel drive (sDrive) or all-wheel-drive (xDrive)
• The sDrive 20d (FWD) does 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds
• The xDrive 20d (AWD) does 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds
