Renault launches Night & Day editions of Kiger, Triber & Kwid

The new 'Night & Day' edition will be limited to just 1,600 units.

Renault has launched a new limited-edition version of the Kiger, Triber and Kwid this festive season. The new 'Night & Day' edition will be limited to just 1,600 units. Bookings will open on September 17.

The Renault Night & Day limited edition is based on the RXL variant of the Triber and Kiger and RXL (O) variant of the Kwid. It is characterized by a dual-tone exterior colour scheme of Pearl White with a Mystery Black roof.

The Night & Day editions also get piano black wheel covers, piano black grille inserts, model badges, ORVMs and tailgate garnish. Inside, the Kiger and Triber get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity and a rear-view camera. Rear power windows are offered as standard on the Triber Night & Day edition.

In terms of safety features, the Kiger, Triber and Kwid come equipped with ESP, Hill Start Assist, traction control, and TPMS.

Renault gifts Kiger, Kwid & Triber to the Indian Army

The cars will support the mobility and transportation needs of the 14 Corps, Northern Command of the Indian Army.

Renault India has gifted a Kiger, Kwid, and Triber to the Indian Army to support the mobility and transportation needs of the 14 Corps, Northern Command.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sudhir Malhotra, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Renault India, said, “We are deeply honoured to extend our support to the 14 Corps, Northern Command, Indian Army with the contribution of these vehicles. Renault currently offers three models in India. These include the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger. The entry-level Kwid hatchback is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen and more than 14 safety features.

The Triber gets a 7-inch instrument cluster, a wireless charger, a driver seat armrest, and power-folding ORVMs, while the Kiger compact SUV comes with semi-leatherette seats, a leatherette steering wheel, auto-fold ORVMs, and a bezel-less auto-dimming IRVM.

Africa-spec Renault Triber awarded 2 stars by Global NCAP

The test car was a Renault Triber manufactured in India for the African market.

The Africa-spec Renault Triber has been awarded a 2-star rating by Global NCAP. It received a score of 22.29 points for adult occupant safety and 19.99 points for child occupant protection.

As per the crash test report, the car offered good head and neck protection in the frontal impact test. The driver’s chest showed weak protection and the passenger’s chest showed adequate protection. The driver’s knees showed marginal protection, while the passenger’s knees showed good protection. The protection for the tibias was adequate.

The head, abdomen and pelvis showed good protection, chest showed weak protection in the side impact test. The side pole impact test was not performed on the car.

The child seat for the 3-year-old was not able to prevent forward head exposure during the frontal impact test and neck and chest protection was weak to poor. The child seat for the 18-month-old was able to prevent head exposure during the test. The Triber offered full side impact protection.

The test car was manufactured in India for the African market. It does not offer 3-point seat belts in all seating positions as standard. It has dual front airbags, a seat belt reminder, pretensioners and load limiters.

2024 Renault Triber launched at Rs 5.99 lakh

The updated Triber is available in six variants and comes in a new Stealth Black exterior colour.

Renault has launched the 2024 Triber in India. The updated Triber is available in six variants priced from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Renault has made a few changes to the Triber for the 2024 model year. The MPV now gets the same digital instrument cluster from the Kiger, a wireless charger and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

The Triber is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 72 BHP and 96 Nm. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. 

The 2024 Triber is available in a new Stealth Black exterior colour.

Nissan plans 5 new models for India: SUVs, MPV & EV

Nissan is gearing up to enter the heavily contested mid-size SUV segment with its version of the all-new Renault Duster.

Nissan has revealed its future product plan for the Indian market. The carmaker plans to launch five new models, including two SUVs, one MPV and an entry-level EV.

Nissan is gearing up to enter the heavily contested mid-size SUV space with two models based on the all-new Renault Duster. The 5-seater version will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. A 3-row version is also said to be in the works and it will compete with 7-seater SUVs like the Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.

The MPV in question is said to be a rebadged version of the Renault Triber. It will be positioned below the Magnite and will offer a cheaper alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens.

Nissan is also working on an entry-level EV based on the CMF-AEV platform. It could compete with the Tata Tiago.ev. Renault’s version of the small EV is also said to be on the cards.

The fifth product that Nissan has lined up for the Indian market is the refreshed Magnite. The Magnite facelift is expected to get a few cosmetic changes and new features. It is expected to be launched sometime next year.

Nissan plans to launch three sub-4 meter models in the coming years, including an entry-level EV.

Earlier this year, Renault and Nissan announced their long-term strategy for India, which includes an investment of Rs 5,300 crore. The carmakers also revealed their plans to introduce six new models. We can now share some details about the upcoming models from the Nissan stable in particular.

Sources have revealed that the X-Trail will be the first of six new cars lined up for the Indian market. The 4th-gen X-Trail was showcased in October last year. The SUV is likely to be imported via the CBU route. It will compete with the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Five new models will be rolled out by 2025-2026. Among these will be a global EV, which is likely to be the Ariya electric crossover. Depending on the size of the battery, this EV will offer a range of 580-610 km.

Nissan is also looking to tap into the midsize SUV space with a new model. It is expected to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the recently launched Honda Elevate.

It is said that Nissan plans to launch three sub-4 meter models in the coming years. These include a compact SUV, a compact 7-seater MPV, possibly based on the Renault Triber and an entry-level electric car.

Renault Kiger, Triber & Kwid Urban Night edition launched

The cars get a Smart Mirror Monitor - a 9.66-inch colour screen, which doubles as an interior rear-view mirror.

Renault has launched the 'Urban Night' limited edition of the Kiger, Triber and Kwid for this festive season.

The Urban Night limited edition comes with some exterior enhancements, including a stealth black exterior colour with Stardust Silver accents. Inside, the cars get ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates.

The limited-edition version also gets a Smart Mirror Monitor, which uses a 9.66-inch colour screen, which doubles as an interior rear-view mirror. It offers adjustable view angles and a monitor for front and rear camera recording with wireless smartphone connectivity for downloading recorded content.

The Kiger Urban Night limited edition is finished in a Stealth Black exterior colour with Stardust Silver front and rear skid plates and puddle lamps.

While the Triber gets similar changes, the Kwid gets a few additional exterior changes like a headlamp bezel, bumper garnish, piano black ORVMs, Stardust Silver roof rails inserts, a rear trunk chrome liner with Stardust Silver elements and Stardust Silver Flex wheels.

Renault India achieves 1 million production milestone

Renault-Nissan has committed to an investment of Rs 5,300 crore to develop six products.

Renault has achieved a new production milestone as the 1 millionth vehicle rolled off its assembly line in India.

The 1 millionth vehicle, which happened to be a Kiger, was recently built at Renault's Chennai plant. The facility has an annual production capacity of 4,80,000 units. It also serves as a manufacturing hub for the brand.

Renault currently exports made-in-India vehicles to 14 countries across SAARC, Asia Pacific, Indian Ocean Region, South Africa and East Africa region.

Renault launches the 2023 Kiger, Triber & Kwid in India

Renault's 2023 model range has been updated with new safety features and RDE-compliant engines.

Renault has announced the launch of its 2023 model range, which includes the updated Kiger, Triber and Kwid.

Renault’s 2023 model line-up comes with updated engines that comply with BS6 Step 2 emission norms. In addition to catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, the cars are equipped with a self-diagnostic device, which constantly monitors the vehicle’s emission levels while driving.

As far as safety systems are concerned, Renault has made features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System as standard on the 2023 Kiger and Triber. These features are also available in select variants of the 2023 Kwid.

The 2023 Renault Kwid is available in a new RXE variant powered by a 1.0-litre engine. It is priced at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The car also gets features like ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and steering-mounted audio and phone controls.

On the other hand, the 2023 Renault Triber gets chrome door handles and new seat upholstery.

Renault to hike prices of its cars from January 2023

India became the fifth largest market for the brand after France, Germany, Russia and Brazil in 2022.

Renault India has announced that it will increase the prices of its models from January 2023.

Renault hasn’t revealed the exact quantum of the price hike, but, as with other carmakers, prices are being increased to offset the impact of rising input costs driven by pricier commodities, fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, inflation, and regulatory obligations.

According to Renault, India became the fifth largest market for the brand after France, Germany, Russia and Brazil in 2022. India also accounts for 44% of Renault’s overall revenue.

Renault’s current product portfolio includes three models – Kwid, Triber and Kiger.
