Yamaha has recalled 1,155 units of the YZF-R3 in India over a faulty fuel tank bracket and main switch sub assembly. This announcement is in-line with the global recall issued by Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd., Japan.
The recall process will start immediately. Yamaha will be contacting owners of affected bikes directly. All inspection and required parts replacement will be done by the manufacturer free of cost at Yamaha dealerships across the country.
This marks the second recall for the R3 in India since its official launch in 2015. Yamaha had previously detected a fault with the bike's clutch assembly and oil pump assembly, which saw a recall of 902 units in June last year.
