Suzuki Hayabusa recalled in India over front brake lever issue

1,056 bikes manufactured between March 2021 and September 2024 have been affected by this recall.

Suzuki has issued a recall for the Hayabusa superbike over a potential front brake issue.

According to Suzuki, increased front brake lever play has been observed on the affected bikes. If not fixed in time, the lever could hit the throttle grip, resulting in sub-optimal brake pressure being applied. In its statement announcing the recall, the bike maker said, “The front brake lever play increases, in the worst case, the lever contacts with the throttle grip and the braking distance increases.”

1,056 units manufactured between March 2021 and September 2024 have been affected by this recall. The company will be reaching out to owners of the affected bikes to notify them about the recall and to get the issue resolved free of charge.

The Suzuki Hayabusa is one of the most popular superbikes in India. The third-generation model was introduced in 2021. It is powered by the familiar 1,340cc in-line 4-cylinder engine that produces 190 BHP and 150 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Customers can check if their bike is among those recalled by entering the VIN on Suzuki’s official website.
