Why I love my pre-owned Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204)

There's a special feeling of pride while driving this car. Somehow I never felt the same in my BMW 530d (G30).

BHPian Mission_PGPX recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I bought a used Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204). Compared to the W205, I personally love the W204 for its timeless uniqueness, you will not see too many on the road even today.

Following are my reasons:

  • Mine is a Grand Edition launched in 2014 and comes with all bells and whistles.
  • Special mention to agility control suspension, it just glides when driven slow and tightens when driven hard.
  • The superior build quality. Old is gold, as they say. It is the heaviest of all its rivals at 1610 kgs but that transfers to solidity that you feel once inside.
  • Hard to find features - full-size alloy spare wheel in a proper wheel well, can't recall any luxury car maker gives it nowadays. Electrically adjustable steering wheel at this price point, panoramic sunroof, bi-xenon intelligent light system, AMG bumpers, both driver and passenger side electrically adjustable seats with memory function.
  • I have checked and driven lots of 2013-2014 3 series as I am a die-hard Beemer fan and owned G30 530d as well, but sadly the interior quality deteriorates faster compared to Merc. Didn't find a single 3 series which didn't make any unexpected noise or rattle. Compared to that majority of C classes were running tight, not peppy but tight.
  • We are a family of 3 mostly so back seat space is not much of an issue.
  • The NVH level is amazing, almost matches that of a new 5 series with acoustic glass all around. If you are listening to music, you will feel gliding.
  • 7G tronic, not the best in business but does the job.
  • There is this special feeling of pride while driving, which somehow I never got in my BMW. This will be subjective of course but I am sharing what I feel.

For all those on a tight budget, luxury aspiring ones, don't ignore this W204 version of C class.
