Why I feel the Maruti Baleno sedan is loved by enthusiasts even today

One thing which I am fond of about the Baleno, when compared to other cars of its segment is its dual character nature.

The Baleno has always been an important car for us enthusiasts. And the undeniable aura this vehicle has demands a second glance even today. You just can not ignore a Baleno 1.6 on the road. One thing which I am fond of about the Baleno, when compared to other cars of its segment is its dual character nature. This is one car that you can take out on a lazy Sunday morning spin with your friends, music on full blast, speeds lingering around 50-60kmph range and it will reward you with fantastic road manners and a ride quality that many cars even today can only dream of. Then there is the other side. The side where it reaches triple digit speeds in 2nd gear itself. If you want that, the Baleno will give you that as well. You don’t need to rip the engine of a Baleno to have fun with it. It excelled in areas more than one and that's what makes it unique.

I had the good fortune of witnessing all the events from acquiring the car to its restoration first hand, and I must admit that this Baleno has got the owner that all cars dream of Kudos to you brother for what you have achieved with Phoenix. And uncountable more happy miles to you.

O.T: Blasting your favourite Bollywood cinema music from the 90s, in your dream vehicle from the 90s has got to be the most therapeutic experience for us car guys. Time travel eh?

The Baleno and Ikon. The Ikon in its 1.6 avatar was one car that could hold its own against a Baleno. Although the Baleno is built and feels much better quality wise.

With my Grand i10. Simply no comparison here. The only thing these two have in common is the ride comfort and the good quality of materials in and outside the cabin. Rest all, lesser said the better.
