70000 km up on my Mercedes C220d: Going strong at the 5 year mark

The yearly running is slowly coming down as my driving pattern has changed a lot, now it is mostly a city car, used for my daily office commute.

BHPian sgm recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Time flies and our C220d has crossed the 70000km mark in 5 years and 5 months. This is something new to me, no other car has done so many miles in such a short time for me. I like the comfort and ease of driving it, a lot better compared to other cars at home and this gets picked up if I know parking or route won’t be a problem. The yearly running is slowly coming down as my driving pattern has changed a lot, now it is mostly a city car, used for my daily office commute. I have done only two short highway trips during the last one year and still it is clocking like 12k KM per year. There are no complaints and the car continues to drive well.

I was tempted go for a major upgrade after the 5 year mark but my "smart" wife infused lots of wisdom in my head and I have poured cold water on it for the real luxury of “freedom” as running cost are not very high and “peace of mind” of not a brand new car, can drive it around and park anywhere like your other cars. There are lots of minor scratches and no heartburn when occasionally you get another one. I feel the size is right for city use as it is not too long like the E-class/5-series or too wide like the X5/GLE. I hope I can get a fast 6 cylinder petrol in the near future. The ones I like are all costing close to 1.3cr - 1.4cr on-road in Bangalore, really wondering if these are worth such sort of money.

I had done a booking for Thar Roxx 4x4 AT during last year October, during the booking opening time, and hopefully it will arrive sometime this year itself. The officially communicated expected delivery date is 2026 April. This should help me to reduce the workload on C-class and slow down its journey towards the 1L KM mark.

Modifications:

The car remained in stock form so far and finally I added a dash cam. After the extended warranty finished, I added 70mai A510 Dash Cam. The installation was done from Edge Car Accessories, HSR layout.

The front camera picks up lots of reflection, I may install a good CPL filter.

The back camera is affected by the factory tint. Though the tint looks very mild to human eyes, the effect is amplified very much in the videos. Any suggestions?
