MG has confirmed that the four-seater coupe version of its all-electric Cyberster sports car will go into production this year.
A prototype of the Cyberster GTS was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but there were no details on a launch date. However, MG confirmed at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show that a production-spec model is in the works, and it could launch in October this year for the 60th anniversary of the original MG B GT. MG parent company SAIC's design boss, Jozef Kaban did not reveal much but only said, “It's coming.” He did mention that people’s positive response to the concept resulted in the green light for production. He hailed the effectiveness of the two-door sports car as a halo model for MG as an incentive to expand that line-up.
"It makes you smile," he said. "It makes you happy the moment you open the doors. You know everybody's watching. You know you are the star.
"That's why we love cars because you feel that they are there to make you stronger. They make you happy. They make you shine."
Once the Cyberster GTS is launched, the Cyber brand model lineup will sport three cars, the other two being the Cyberster roadster and the Cyber X SUV.
MG unveiled the Cyberster Roadster in India at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.
