Trusted a local garage for my VW Polo GT’s 90K km service: Satisfied?

The ATF was not changed at 60,000 km so I was keen on getting it done now but once they checked the oil, both me and the technician were very surprised.

BHPian Sierra__foxtrot recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Recently completed the 90,000 kms service of my VW Polo GT, though I sent it at 93,000 only. Took it to German Motor Works Radial Road Chennai for this service since the warranty was over, wanted to check out this FNG.

The general service was completed in less than 2 hours with the usual engine oil and filter change, and the other filters being replaced. Was told my steering column is nearly done and will need to be replaced next service.

Since I have the 6AT version, never did the ATF change at 60,000 km, so was keen on doing it at 90,000, but once they checked the oil, both I and the technician were very surprised at the quality of the oil (pristine). No foreign particles, no change in viscosity and even the colour is pretty much new.

The head mechanic stated the oil looks brand new and factory fresh but I haven’t changed it ever in my ownership duration (Experts, please chip in as to what is the reason here), so didn’t swap the oil and will be inspected at the next service for any need to change it (Kudos to their honesty and not trying to rip me off) and also got a very nice exterior wash and interior cleaning complementary.

Total bill including labour cost me around Rs 7500, a good 3500 less than the dealership.

Was I satisfied? Oh yes. Will I come back again? Oh definitely.
