Details of Volkswagen Group's India 3.0 project are out. Reports suggest that VW's third strategic plan includes a mild-hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) or an all-electric car and a sub-4 meter SUV under the Skoda brand.
The India 3.0 project is expected to begin around 2023. Initially, the carmaker plans to focus on new segments and could later consider mild-hybrid models. Moreover, VW might even launch a pure EV instead of going the mild-hybrid route.
While details of the future models are not known, the electric car could be based on the VW Group's MEB platform. The VW ID. Crozz, which was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo is based on this platform. The Skoda Enyaq iV also uses the same architecture.
