Faulty charging port actuator in Tata Nexon.EV: Is it a common issue?

It seems the actuator movement gets blocked due to muck thrown up by the rear wheel.

BHPian Venky03 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

I began experiencing issues with the charging actuator in mid-July. While it initially started charging without problems, it failed to unlock the gun using the gun unlock switch, requiring me to manually unlock it by pulling the ring. By the last week of July, the actuator stopped initiating charging entirely, as it was stuck in the unlocked position.

On August 3rd, I visited TASS and was informed that the actuator would be replaced under warranty, with the part expected to arrive in 10 days. After 15 days, I followed up, but the part was still unavailable. Since I was out of town for the next two weeks, I contacted them again on September 3rd. They assured me the part would arrive within the next three days.

Finally, on September 6th, I received a call confirming that the part was available. I requested pick-up and drop-off service, and the actuator was replaced. The car was delivered to me the following day.

I also asked them to update the infotainment, and arcade.EV finally started working for me after owning the car for almost a year.

While browsing through ownership groups for solutions, I discovered that the actuator issue is quite common across all generations of the Nexon EV. It seems the actuator movement gets blocked due to muck thrown up by the rear wheel. It’s surprising that such a widespread issue remains unaddressed and hasn't been properly fixed yet.
