VW to open 2nd Parts Distribution Centre in India by 2015

German automaker, Volkswagen is gearing up to open a second regional Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in India. This PDC will be located at Bangalore and is expected to be fully functional by the second quarter of 2015.

PDC is a part of Volkswagen's three depot network strategy under its "depot network development project" and the company aims to expand its after-sales and spare parts infrastructure in the southern region country. The Bangalore PDC is expected to help improve timely delivery of genuine parts to authorised service centres of Volkswagen Group's India five brands - Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda and Volkswagen. Genuine parts are expected to be delivered to the group's dealer network in the Southern region within 24 hours.

Volkswagen's first Parts Distribution Centre in India was set up in 2012 and is located at Gurgaon, in the northern state of Haryana.
