Volvo S60 Polestar to launch in India on April 14

Volvo will be launching its Polestar brand in India on April 14, 2017, with the introduction of the S60 Polestar sedan. Polestar is basically Volvo's performance-oriented arm.

The Volvo S60 Polestar will become the new top-end model in the S60 range. It is based on the standard S60 T6 trim level, but comes with various new performance mods. Cosmetically, the S60 Polestar will borrow most of its design cues from its standard sibling, though it will come with a new body kit and larger 20-inch alloy wheels.

The Volvo S60 Polestar also gets some chassis tweaks to handle the surge in power and torque outputs. These changes include a stiffer suspension setup, a larger air intake and a higher-capacity fuel pump.

Powering the S60 Polestar will be a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged and supercharged petrol engine that churns out 362 BHP and 470 Nm of torque while being mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Volvo claims that this powertrain setup can accelerate the S60 Polestar from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, before hitting its electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

In India, the S60 Polestar will be competing against the Mercedes-AMG C43, BMW M3 and Audi S5.
