Volkswagen Vento Sport launched at Rs. 11.44 lakh

Volkswagen recently unveiled the Vento Sport on its website. Now, according to a media report, the new variant has been launched at a price of Rs. 11.44 lakh for the petrol manual version and Rs. 12.79 lakh for the petrol DSG version. The diesel with the 5-speed manual gearbox costs Rs. 12.92 lakh, while the DSG version is priced at Rs. 14.17 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Vento Sport is offered in a new styling package. The car gets a black grille with chrome slats and smoked LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The dual-tone front bumper comes equipped with fog lamps and a chrome strip. It has a gloss black roof, faux-carbon ORVM housings, blacked-out B-pillars and 16-inch Portago alloy wheels. It also comes with black window surround and decals on the doors as well as 'Sport' badges on the front fenders. At the rear, the Vento Sport gets a black boot lip spoiler and LED tail light inserts.

In terms of features, the Vento Sport offers similar equipment as the Highline Plus trim. On the inside, the Vento Sport gets faux-leather upholstery, leather steering wheel and gear knob. It comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system and a rear view camera.

For the petrol versions, a 1.2-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder unit producing 104 BHP and 174 Nm of peak torque is paired with the 7-speed DSG gearbox, while the 104 BHP 1.6-litre unit comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine produces 109 BHP of peak power and 250 Nm of torque and is available with the same transmission options.

Volkswagen is reportedly offering this trim level on both 2017 and 2018 model year cars with benefits of up to Rs. 1.2 lakh on the older cars. An additional discount of Rs. 25,000 is being offered on cars booked before March 20, 2018. Further, customers can also avail of the exchange and loyalty bonus of Rs. 20,000 on their purchase.
