VIDEO: 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB spotted in India

Mercedes-Benz will be launching the 2017 E-Class in India later this year. Earlier reports had mentioned the possibility of Mercedes bringing the long wheelbase (LWB) V213 variant of the new E-Class to India, instead of the standard model. The German automaker has also started testing the V213 E-Class in the country, which was recently spotted on video in Chakan, near Pune.

The LWB E-Class is 5,063 mm long, with a wheelbase that spans 3,079 mm. This is 140 mm longer than the standard E-Class, thus translating into better cabin space, especially on the rear bench. With the introduction of the LWB model, Mercedes appears to be targeting the chauffer driven customers who might get attracted with the larger space available at the back seat.

Till now, the long wheelbase E-Class has been exclusively selling only in the Chinese market. For the India-spec model, Mercedes is expected to equip the car with two engine options: a 3.0-litre V6 diesel and a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol.
