Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster launched at Rs. 11.12 lakh

Triumph has launched its 2018 Bonneville Speedmaster in India. The classic-styled cruiser bike is priced at Rs. 11,11,500 (ex-showroom, India). The Bonneville Speedmaster is based on the Bonneville Bobber and uses a tubular steel cradle frame. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,510 mm and the seat height is set at 705 mm. The Speedmaster weighs 245.5 kg and comes with a 12-litre fuel tank.

The Speedmaster gets 41 mm front forks and a hidden monoshock rear suspension unit with linkage and stepped preload adjuster. It rides on 16-inch wire-spoke wheels. The bike features a circular, 5-inch LED headlamp with LED DRLs and front position light. In the rear, it gets an LED tail light, LED indicators and number plate light. The bike comes with a single-pod instrument cluster with an LCD display, a dual-tone fuel tank and twin-chrome exhausts with slash-cut tips.

The Bonneville Speedmaster is powered by the same 1,200 cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin cylinder engine as the Bonneville Bobber. It makes 76 BHP @ 6,100 rpm and 106 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission via a torque-assist clutch. The power is up by 25% on the 2015 Speedmaster and 10% on the Bonneville T120, while torque has gone up by 42% and 10% respectively. The new Speedmaster uses ride-by-wire throttle and has two riding modes - Road and Rain. Brakes come in the form of 310 mm twin discs in the front with 2-piston Brembo calipers and a single 255 mm disc in the rear with a 1-piston Nissin caliper, while ABS is standard.

Other features include cruise control, switchable traction control and immobilizer. The Bonneville Speedmaster is available in three colour options - Jet Black, Cranberry Red and a dual-tone Fusion White and Phantom Black with twin had painted coach line. It is offered with a choice two design kits - the 'Maverick kit' comes with a single brown quilted seat, flatter handlebars, black Vance & Hines exhausts with exhaust headers, oil filler cap and a grab rail removal kit. The 'Highway kit' adds an adjustable front windshield, pillion seat with back rest, leather panniers, chrome engine bars and luggage rack. The bike is being offered with a high first major service interval of 16,000 Km.
