Toyota trademarks 'Innova HYCROSS' name

The next-gen Innova (codenamed: 560B) is likely to be offered with petrol and petrol hybrid powertrains.

Toyota has filed a trademark application for the 'Innova HYCROSS' name in India. It could be used for the next-gen Innova hybrid.

The next-generation Toyota Innova has already been spotted testing in India. Reports suggest, the new MPV (codenamed: 560B) is likely to be offered with petrol and petrol hybrid powertrains.

While the new Innova will retain its boxy proportions, the car looks quite bulky in the spy images. It is expected to get a new front fascia featuring LED headlamps, a strong shoulder line and a redesigned C-pillar. The test car has also been spotted sporting large alloy wheels.

At present, the Innova Crysta comes with two engine options. It includes a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 164 BHP and 245 Nm and a 2.4-litre diesel with 148 BHP and 360 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
